Potato

I helped in the potato shed getting the potato to roll down so they could be loaded onto the truck to become potato chips. It was so fun and cool in the building, you throw the potato up to the top or what ever potato is holding the rest them and if you get the right one down comes a whole bunch of them, hey it's the little thrills to you know. Brent worked on the ditch for the pipe to water the trees and flowers. During the potato loading I saw something move and it wasn't a potato it was a toad. The guy moving the potato threw the toad on to the potato belt that was being loaded onto the truck. The gals looking for bad potato jump back from, the belt and screamed. One brave gal grabbed it and tossed the toad off so it did not go for a ride.
Also I got a call from one of the members and they asked if we could give them a ride to visit her sister, I said yes and that we would be over after work. She said that her sister was sick and she needed a blessing. When we got there she spoke to her for a little while before I when in. She was very sick and did not talk very loud, I then began to talk about the blessing and if she wanted one. She told me no and she didn't believe in anything, not me or God or any thing. The whole thing was really sad and so I told her the experience that her sister had just had do the work for her parents in the temple and asked her sister to tell her how it made her feel knowing this work was done for them. But from this point on her sister said that she would rather die then have the doctors do any thing for her, not just because of the money but also it looked like she was giving up because she didn't believe in anything.
We asked her why she had gone there in the first place knowing how she believed and she said that she had had a dream that her sister was sick and that's why she called her and found out that she was just released from the hospital. Then she made the commit that it didn't do any good because her sister didn't want to listen. I told her that it helped to talk to her because then she did her part and if she did die she could at lest say that I tried. On the way home she was crying and all we could do was to try to comfort her and let her know that GOD would be their and it was up to her sister then. All experience here are not happy ones but we keep trying.

Cleaning up

Brent has been fixing the toilets and I have been cleaning at the complex 1. It's a very big girl and boy bathroom. It nice because it's tiled and I can use the hose to wash it down. Simple wipe down and mope and then it's done.
My Bread class at Ahome did not work out like we plan. No one was at the church so we went to the Bishop house only to find a note from the missionary, that said they stopped by to eat. We left to start looking for the missionaries and just like a answer to prayer there they came up behind us and they were hungry. I had bread dough in the car and with some oil we could have scones in no time. They took us to a lady house with an oven. She was making donuts to sell. They were selling fast. She quickly feed the missionary and they were on there way. She helped us with the bread and call another lady to join us. We had fun and even was able to teach the bread class to this lady and her friend. We left some bread and took some rolls for the kids in seminary class as it would be the last day of class tomorrow. They love the rolls.
As we were leaving town we got to see a parade from the school and it was full of clowns dancing indianos, cars with queens and balloons, it was the end of a other day in paradise here. On our way home we followed the road along the river . We stopped by a park along the river and ate water melon that we had just bought in Haome.. It was beautiful and peaceful the water was very clear and the birds was singing, God loves the country and people here, well enough of that till next time.

THE GOLDEN ROAD

For the past four months we have been getting up at 5:15 in the morning to help the seminary teacher with his class, it has been hard to do this because first of all I am not a morning person, but we started with the project and we wanted to finish it. So to make things more fun for me I would start talking to every body on the way there as we walked to the church, about 8 blocks away. You can't believe the people that we started to get to know, like all the night guards and the gal that opens up the taco stand in the morning and the people sweeping up the leaves. Some times I would carry candy with me and tell them to have a sweet day, or just wave at them. Connie would leave before me because I walked faster then her and I would always stop and talk to people . Hard to believe hun. After giving away lots of candy and oranges and of course three Books of Mormon it has been a great experience. And best of all the last one we gave a book to said the he had lived his whole live with out drinking or smoking and when I gave him the Joseph Smith pamphlet he had almost memorized it and could not believe that I was giving him the Book of Mormon. His name is Mario, and his turn s 57 on the first of June. I told the Elders about him and also about another guard that had read the whole book of Mormon in 2 weeks. And all these people we met just because we wanted to help the teacher with his class. The class will end for the summer and I am for one looking forward to sleeping in a little bit longer but we are glad that we found these golden people, the Lord does work in mysterious ways and even early ways.

You eat first because your big hun

I still can't get use to eating before the children. Which is a costume down here. The adults are served first, we had a family home evening planed for the family of Mary and when we got there they sat us down and gave us a big bowl of corn and chicken soup. They even had some soda pop for us to drink, and while we were eating one of the little girls ask the mother for some soup and the mother told her that she would have to wait, and the little girl started to cry. It was almost more then we could handle. I told Connie that they do this not only to be kind but they also are hoping for the blessing that it would bring to feed the missioners. The mother talked about how the children had helped to shuck the corn and then grind it up to make tortillas and the soup. Any way we got past that and started family home evening. The kids knew that we were coming and had waited all day for us to show up. So when we got there they were ready. We started up talking about faith and a seed and had them find some seeds for us.
They found all kinds of seeds, corn being one of them, and we talk about how one seed can grow and produce all kinds of fruit or be lost and not produce nothing. Just like faith you have to plant it and work with it to have good fruit. Later it was time to do some songs and games, the kids did very well and we had a lot of fun. We pasted out the treats and said good by and of course invited them out to church Sunday.

Not dead in a ditch

Dad got a barrel work up so it give water to a sink and the toilet in the house we use for a meeting house. We got to fill the barrel up again for this next week. The toilet flush and everything. Someone in the area burn the outhouse down. One of the lady from the church fell into part of the waste ditch trying to go to the bathroom with one of the kids. Brent could not stand and let that happen again. We got help with some money to put in a toilet. It so cool.
We went Friday at 9:30 on a long bus ride to the temple. We took one of the lady in the group into the family library to get her parent name put in so there temple work could get done. She had information and her birth certificate had the rest of what was need. Her daughter had a hard time deciding to go. We went to The temple leaving Friday night at 9:30 on the long bus ride. We found the bus seat narrow for little people like the people who live down here and the seat are very hard after few hour. No room for Dad leg. We got there at 5:30 our time but 4:30 where the temple was they open at 5:30. wtih a call be got in a little early. They did bapism first. I help with the towels for the kid. We got the family name from our group done. Daughter did her grandmother and got confered. We got name done in a session and the couple married. Long bus trip home. We feel like we been hit by a truck and roll down the road a little in other word WE are SORE all over.
Church went OK My lessen for the kid was about hands. We had fun. Look for to end church so go home take it easy after long trip. We had two little girls leave head out to see the world. They hide from Brent and anyone looking for them. One of the guy found the girls and we took them home.
end is it night yet HEE HEA
