The bathroom out at the complex. the metal door one is take off its huges we don't know why and the other door is hanged the wrong way the wind catch it so it will be changed. Grandpa running ditch water to the building so they can have a running bathroom. One of the toilet will be replace because it broke. We got new pump for the bathroom.

More of the same

We start out looking for a torch that Brent need for the plumbing work. The two place we check didn't have them but we saw it at Home Dep. We went out to Home Dep.

We had help digging the trench for the water lines. We got there late. We start out having lunch. Brent drink some unsaft water yesterday and not feeling well to day. I think he learn to watch what he does that will be a change.

It potato planting time down here. They have a bunch of worker soring the potato. One group sort the rotten potato out. Another group sort out the big potato and the real small potatos. They plant them whole down here because the heat in the ground will spoiled them. They have a lot of equipment that work really well for them. The main tractor they like to use on the farm is John Deer. I needed to use the toilet there on the farm and it was quite a ride. I thought I was going to fall off of there. But before I fell off I gab the bucket of water that they use to flush the toilet with. Made it though OK. What a ride. That one of the project I going to fix. The door to the bathroom is about to fall off because the wind catchs it.

We went to the church to try my spanish but we were late Brent practice the piano. When we were done we went to leave. I didn't have the key thought I lock them in the car. But I left my purse in the church. We don't have a spare set down here. I get a spare for the house. At lease will have a set here.

We ate at little restaurnt that had a lot of modern Art on the wall but it was neet place to unwined at the end of a day.

11/28/06 end of a calm day and Grandpa say another day in paradice.

Plumbing Monday

Brent started the digging of the plumbing line out on one of the area of the farm. I help clean up around the area. We fill two truck load of trash which we took to just another part of the farm. At lease it clean the area we were in.

We dug up part of walk at the back of the building and found about 30 toad all in little hole under the walk there. The dirt was nice soft and moise. We left the toad to dig new holes for themselfs.

We were hot, sore and tired. We thought about getting prepared for tomorrow. So we went looking for the bread store. The one we went to the other day. While we were looking for the store Brent found the pineapple man. We stop and Brent got a treat.

We found the bread store and it was close. Something up they are normal open. Will find out another time. Brent had notice another bread store in our traveling around. I went in they had big hot dog bun. lots of sweet. But no loaves of bread. I got two bun for Supper and left.

We are low on maney and decide to turn in the gas receipt. We took the dig bottle of water to trade for another full bottle of pure water. While there the guys wsnt to get brent his torch. They went to get it and brent went with them and I went home. I fix hot dog with lime avacado and some tomanto. When Brent got back he love the the hot Dog. The guys told him there favorite place for bread. I was tired but we went look again for a bread store. This bread store has hambuger type bun and sweet but no loaves of bread. I got bun for sandwish for tomorrow.

I know Wal Mart would had the loave of bread but not in wheat. Who would guess looking for a loave of bread could take so long with still no loave. Maybe tomorrow?
I think were in tortilla land.

11/27/06 End of loaveless and tired day

Sunday with the group

We had two family make the meeting. We share testomany for sacarment meeting. I did a lessen on prayer with adults and kids. It lasted two hour. We had a good time.

We went to the family that invited us over for dinner. We brought fish and shrimp, potato, and a big papaya. We visited for the afternoon while we waited for the lady that know how to cook. We left one book of mormon with the famiy and the neighbor come by on his way to church for the other book of mormon.

It was hard the lady two door down from them die Saturday. They were having her viewing. Brent felt like offering to sing a song. One gal check with her brother who just said NO. So we left. Brent was in a singing mood. When we got home he sang a few song and felt wonderful doing it.

This is the bluiding that someone out there give us to use for church. We clean up around the house so it would be nice for church.

Thur & Fri

We went back out to the area with a list of names with no address because they do not have address out there. We went with one of the lady we meet with the missionary. Asking people about people on the list. Lots of looking but no luck if they were LDS they didn't say they were or they sayed they were dead. Brent said we sure found alot of dead people today. We found people with the same name but there whole name they said was different. We did meet the few who were still active in there hearts which was wonderful.

Every body busy out there swipeing there dirt or tile floor. They are clean. People out there work for the farmers picking, weeding, and planting. They have buses that take them out to the field to work. While we were out there everyone was getting off work. we found a less 10 buses and past more as we were leaveing.

Every block has a little county store so you don't have to go far to get some thing to east. Here in the city and out there the place come a live with people going places. Most do not eat untill at less 8:00 or later. They take a big lunch break at 1:00-2:00.

Brent had to try some local food from a vented. I had my chooce of pineapple, coconut,apples, or papaya. I choose the pineapple. He quickly grab it and cut it up in to about thirty pieces. Put it into a plastic bag and ask me what I wonted on it. I ask what are my chooses. He said salt, leamon, or leamon chili pepper. I not trusting that the chili pepper might be hot. I went with salt and fresh squeeze lemon. I could not wait to tried this new concoction in my mouth. It was sweet, tart, and saltly all at the same time. Brent love it and could wait to give Connie a taste. I thought for a moment Connie was going to throwup. She didn't but did not wont any more. So there they have it new treat and two different reactions.

I didn't even miss that it thankgiving because it so warm. I didn't think about it. Maybe next year when I miss the family more.

11/24/06 another day spend looking and discovering.

Tue & Wed

We went out look for member in group out by storage sheds they live between a canal and the railroad track. There replaceing the track out in area so it make it harder to get around.

We went out tue and no one know any one that was a member out there. Wed with the missionary we had nice visit with two family that are members. You going out again on Thurday. We are going to check out the building they using for a church house to see what it needs?

On the farm that church own we will be installing about 800 feet of new pipe and putting in a new pump. They take the water right out of the canal because most of the water will be using is to water the plants and for the toilets. All so this will be a pressurized system. We just found out some thing very exciting because this is a potato farm and they are used in potato chip. That doing the harvest they test the potato chips IN PLAIN ENGLISH I GET TO EAT LOTS OF FRESHLY MADE POTATO CHIPS that start around January.

Sunday & Monday

Church started with like 6 people but they started. Shortly after the sacarement the chapel was full. Mormon standard time is not as late as Mex mormon standard time.

The bishop was us to see some peple in the ward that have not come for a while we will see how it goes.

Monday is a big hoiday here it Revelution Day. Big Parada just a few block away I glad I didn't have to drive here like some of them did. It a parada of people from all the different school in city. they got some univary in the city here. We got some picture. I hope I can get them put on.

Service

Today was help with the service project. Got up had breakfast and we were off to find the project. Brent could remember were it was and wonder why I thought he should know. Hutch ask him if he know where it was and he said yes. So I thought he know where it was. We ask someone and went west. We then we ask someone else and went back to were we started but we got to the park little after seven they had all really start painting the tree they miss last week. We painted about 10 and 4 were big trees. I was wore out about that time and it was 11:30. One are way leaving one kid paint part of the wall. We hurry an got water to wash it off. Kid don't think some times.

We went home and took a nap. I am so sore we just too it easy. Went for a walk. I am studing the scripture in spanish in the morning and evening. Dad said I sound better. I can tell.

Try to get some exersize in a day. but not this day.

11/18/06 End of day we were sore and tried

Pay Day

They are busy at the office it pay day so brent with me for the day. They do not work weekend so we got some time. Call for the gas man again. he came right over. He brought two new tanks.
I had to open the outside gate for him to take the tank over to the water heater. We need to pay him and so I made a mad run to the atm. Most all the street but the mainone are one way. It take me time to get use to it. car passting me going the same way still unnerves me. Just a block a way is the school and when I went to go to the atm would you know the school was just getting out. so I went around it. Hurry into Walmart and hurry back to brent and the gas man. We got him pay. We are still in hot water for a while.

We went to see if we could visit the hospitial here but they said no because they are goverment run and it to polectial. We went to the school to see if they could use some help with english they we happy to have come. but it would have to be tue because Monday a big hiolday. It Revolution Day here.

We got a little parade eariler with kindergarden kid it was so cute.

We had non thing else to do so we went to find Home Depot. That Store different here in mexico. they still have a garden center,big tile area, big plumbing are with pipe. Smaller christmas area. Differ thing to use on the roof. Dad remind me they don't have to worry about it freezing. Some one call from the office to get plumbing thing from the big supply store.

11/17/06 Getting thing going

iNTERNET

DAD had a plan to run some plumbing to a sink in a building out on the farm. The eletricial need to be rerun tooo Dad drew up a pkan and took it by the offic yesterday so today he was to go over his plan out on the farm. I'll br here a lone waiting for the internet guy . If he come I'm to call hutch so he can come over at the dame time. The internet guy came and hutch call to say he was out side to let him in. he did not talk english and i don't talk spainish but I show him the tv and he ask about where to put the internet. Some how we manage to talk.Hatch come over later because it call for a program that was in spainish to be put in. They have a guy in the office that good on comput thing. Hutch had call him and he come over and we waited for him. He came with some help.
We got the inter net going. Now if I can just get on the bog.

Dad come home smileing he map thing out and then he help haul big 100 lbs bag of potato. He was smell and need a shower but was happy he got to do something.

We call the gas maen but he did not come. We are all most out of gas hope. We will have to call again tomarrow.

11/16/06 End the day writing on the bog connected to the family finial live is good

Plumber

We do not have hot water to our kithen sink so the landlord sent for the plumber Today is waiting for the plumber day. He came to check the kithen sink out and said the hot line had not been run from remodleing the kithen and who know when that was done. So he went to get parts. He came back and put in new pipe from the hot water heater to the kithen sink and washer because it was along the way?

We found out they don't go to school to be plumber here. this guy just keep bug a plumber to put him to work. the plumber finial got so busy he took him on and now he is plumbing.

Pre Fuller our mission president is in Salt lake City he said he come to see us in Dec. The tor Misson president for the other missionary live in torreo. Hutch is the manager of the farm and he give us assignment, He said he has not had the list of assignment like he has for the other missionary. He wonder what will be doing?

We had are first interview with him today. he said to wear our name tag everyday my tag got broke by the seat beat on the way down there more comeing. I hope they get here soon.

We got sign up for the inter net today and Dad fell good he got a cell phone again.

11/15/06 MORE HOT WATER AND MAYBE THE INTERNET SOON wHAT A DAY

fFarm

We went out to the farm to day. Took the things in the boxes icould not use and put them back into storeage. Saw the storeage building for the potateo. Saw few of the other part of the farm. The othe building on the different place. Most the work on the farm our night secerity to keep people from steeling thing. There are older man. While seeing the farm, we stop at a corn field it look good from the road but the plants were bring eaten really bad by worm. Two different worm one ate the top the other ate the bottom of the plant kill the whole plant.

We went shopping at Walmart. They take care of the food else you do not know how old it is and how clean. At Walmart they the worker wear masks. In the parking area you have men that help you with putting your food in your car and pulling out so you don't back into anyone. You tip them but they help alot. The tip is 5 paso. I wonder if you could get any one in the US to do that job?

Walmart arrange differently here. Spices are on one ailas with flour and sugar on another. Yeast was with the flour. The Sugar bag are small about double the size of power sugar. Poor Dad there is no cream of wheat down here. One ailse of cereals Few if any can goods. Boxs goods. We found one kind of chile afterlooking hard. We pick up plain bean to mix it with. We have a biger very of bean at home.Lots of tomateo in boxs little over half an ailse. They only had little boxes of yeast. Most of the people here eat corn tortia sell they in big boundle are wrap in paper. You can get few flour bundle when they have them. Small jar of peanut butter the small jar you get at home not cruchy and there only two kinds. They do have chocolate for spreading on bread. Few jar of jam. One alsie of Frozen food on one side. Lots of soda big container of it bigger then we get at home. Soda come in Apple, grapefruit , orange, Mango and ect. One Brand of potatos chip there plain or ripple. Melon are in season down here It hot enough I enjoy eating them.

Lot of people around the store to help you. Like an egg lady to tell uou about the egg and you don't look for broken egg.,Milk Lady to help you with the different kind of milk, and dairy produce in that area. Two bread lady, Sea food men, three butcher, Deli lady about three. Lots of fresh shimp but were only 10 mile from the sea. All the meat is slice thin like sandwich meat. No ham but there is pork but just little. Two brand of bacon and that in the deli area. Very little cheece and that in the deli area. We found butter but it was just one kind from new zealand . Tell Rob I ask if they had cow here mexico and they say yes. Maybe there not fat enough for making butter.Lots of fresh fruit and veg. Small area of can soup1/3 of what at home. No Stew, Ravolli and ect in cans or boxes. No fast meal boxes. Look like we will be eating differantly down here. We don't really miss any thing yet.

If we do get to missing some thing we have to go back to the border in a year to repaper the car.

11/14/06 Having fun at the end of a day in Mexico

Gettting GAS

They have a kind of methane gas down here it come just like propane does back home. Brent and my asignment today is get settle and thing for house done. Will the first thing we wont is Hot water?? Some we ask for a parts store. It took us a little bit but we finial found one with in walking dicance from the Aptment. We walk down to the store to get what brent think he needs for the job. The gal try to give him one part but Brent said no. We take home Brent sart working one the gas tank. He come in just moment later saying he had one part wrong. Will back to the store we go to trade parts which they are nice and do for him. We get home and he puts it all to gather and blow to much gas. He think it might need a new water heater. Brent tried and take a nap. He wake up and said it getting to much gas. We need to redo it down. Will the old tank has part of the parts we need but not all. Guess what it back to the store. The hombera give he the part he try to give him in the first part with that what I tried to give you in the first place. Brent just smile and said si. Brent said he felt like any amitsher. I just hoping it will work this time I like some hot water. He get it all together and it works just like it should. We/re in hot water. Like Brent needs more!

Went to the Store that the only ATM in town right now that we know of. Pick up some thing why we are there. Finial got all the rent money paid today.

11/13/06 The wonder if hot water at the end of a day

First Sunday

The next day we got a ride with the mission Pres Clamo and off to El barrio Fuente for a mission conferance. He pick us up in a long white van, it took us about 45 minuets to get there. They had rented a small building to have the meeting in. They had a Electric piano with speaker for the mike. There wre 6 Elders there and before the meet was to start they had a boy baptize. So they had a short prayer and talk with of course a song.The people love the hymas because they were singing the hymas at the top of there lungs. It was great to hear that again, like my first mission. After the song and talk they took the boy outside to baptize him. They had a piece of plasic over a metal frame about 5' wide and 6' long. In jumped the Elder & then the boy and after two try the boy was baptized. They brought him back in. Sang another song.

The main meeting began and a bus load of people came in and then another bus load of people come in. We had a full meeting. The Mission President gave a set of E-S Reader to the missionary to hand out to the breaches in the area. The Mission Pres said he had a need for Us. Brent didn't know what he ask him to do he just said he do it. He had to talk to the Regional President first.

President Hutch said the same thing that the Mission President had some thing for us to do. Hutch had a hard time know what to do with us. He feel like We are need more in church work. He had list of thing for other couple todo. He just has not had big list of thing for us to do. He got same things but not like the other couple. We are truely in the Lord hands. We got home unpack a little more and took it easy.

11/12/06 quite end to interesting day

Apt

(Brent) Today we got moved into our new apt the church put some furniture in there with a hard bed. we are going to find a solf bed some were. In the back yard there are one grapefruit and orange & grapefruit trees. That were the washer and drier are, they ony have cold water run to the washer. We are going to have the hot water run there, because we hot water to the sink. So when they run the water to the kithen sink we weill have them run water to the washer at the same time. Our first night here we had no hot water because the gas tank was not hook up yet. So guess what we took our first cold shower it wasn't bad but I wouldn't want to do it every day.

Los Mochis

We thought about doing breakfast at resaurion here. We step in the resaurion it smell bad and non of the food look like breakfast thing. We decide to leave the buffet behind and just get on the road.

(Brent) The next day we headed out to our final detonation Los Mochis is were we are to start our mission. The view was so different, there was a differant kinds of catus & catus trees. Catus grande any way a realy big catus. Tlower and so many differant kinds of plants that its hard to diseribe. We see alot of big moter house with the painting on the side. Big Boats being haul behind the moter homes or car. This part of Mexico has a four lane road like our freeway and wasn't bad driving but for the mosdt part the roads have not side to them. If you go off the road you crash. The side road is really steep. So I didn't sleep the whole trip here because I didn't wont to die. Once we stared to get to Los Mochis. The area changes and we started seeing what the area was going to be like it was all farm grounde. There was tractor every where we look like they flood irragate here and also have somke pivets. We drove closer to town it was like home.

(Connie) We head to Gaulopa on the way down to Los Mochis. As we got closer we come to a fork in the road Gaulopa one way and Ob something was the other way. Brent said no but I said that the next town on are way to Los Mochis. We went on to Gaulope. Little far down the road we come to the same kind of fork. Brent still said to keep going to Gaulopa. We come to another fork with say Ob this way and Gaulopa Central straight. Brent said to go straight and I said I don't think so. He insisted on going straight. Next thing I know we our going thought narrow city street with lots of traffic. There school kids in uniform in the middle of narrow street between the two yellow line in center of road using on hand to keep there skirts down. Collecting I don't know what. We drive on and go by a road that went to a ferry. We drove stright. We head into a industerial Area with not signs That I could see we keep going straight and turn a corner that said OB straight ahead. We slow turn back into the other roads. MY worst night mare about driving in mexico. I manage it just fine no Thank to Brent but I love him.

(Brent) We found the Hatches house and of course they were very busy. They had two big things going on the next day. So that night we talk and help them make 200 sandwiches. and about 10:50 thy took us to our room and we slept soundly on there solfter bed then motal. They had air conditing going it was great.

Crossing the Border

We woke up early and headed out, now it was time to cross the boader into Mexico. President Hatch (stake president) send us some instructirn on how to get through the boarder with out to much delay. When any of you decide to drive down I will send you this information. It will realy help.

As we cross the border we enter a long green corrador it has a fence of green on each side. The lane got room for two car. You drive slow because there are some people along the road. The first check point you pull up and if you get a green light you go on and we did.

the road are well travel. We went along quite will. The next stop We stop to get a sticker for are car which we could because are vices let us? We went inside a building and show our paper. They had us fill out paper which with Brent help we fill out wrong and need to do them again. Brent had us put our birth city and we need to put were we live

Traveling Con

I went to look for them and a lady stop me and said you look just like a Buhler from highland, UT I said I am the buhler from Highland. then she said do you know Ruby Buhler and I said that is my mother Well you could have knocked us over with a stick. I couldn't believe it, as we talk on I told her that my mother had 15 children and lost a set of twin in the hospitial. She said she work in the hospitial for years and was there when mom had the twin.

She had gone to school with Ruby before she was married. The Lady name Connie Bean and she live in Am Fork. Her maid name was Connie Christeansen. She remember share lunch with Ruby. I wonder if that were my Sister name came from. They head home in March and she love to talk to Ruby!

When we got to the snow bird place I ask if I could use the cell phone and she said of course So I again tried all the number, including lillian number which I wrote down wrong. I still didn't get anybody to answer. I am really missing my cell phone by now!!!!! So I call Alma just to hear a voice and he answed "Hello B-Z plumbing and I said Alma it so good to hear your voice. I love what he said next Dad don't worry about the business, were doing fine."

I said Alma I am not worried about the business. I just want to talk to somebody
the business phone have been busy all day long. Who else can I talk too then Alma said did you call Angela. She has your cell phone. What she has my cell phone! I said thanks Alma. We talk a little bet about the business and said good bye.

Now to call Angela, Ring, Ring hello B-Z Plumbing may I help you. Yes you may Angela were have you been, the business line has been busy all day long. I think the phone is off the hook. Click, yep your right, I thought that it was to quiet today she said. What do you need. Well the number you give me for Lillian was wrong, then I gave her the number, Dad it is 951 not 451.Then she ask me why I didn't you call me on the fax line? or the home line, I daid I called all the line. She said Oh, I just came down from upstair and then went outside with Raulf.

Anyway by the time I called everthing I had to explain to the couple the reason that i used the phone so long. So any way that was a great adventure and we had a great time. We got Rob parents call and they were ready when we got there. It was so nice to see them again.

(Mom part) In the morning we say our good bye and we were off to Mesa, AZ to get our car insurance for Mexico. We got there around 4 o'clok with little time. We didn't know were the Insurance office was. I took a guess to exit on 18th street. Dad was driving, so I was navigating. We stopm at car dealer ship to ask were the insurance office was? Dad call and we could of got off better we were just a little ways away. We got there a little before 5 o'clock. They didn't close we found till 5:30. We need a check to pay for insurance or cash. I left all my check home we would not being useing them in Mexico. We found a ATM across a busy street but it let get the money we need and little extra for travel. AT 5:20 everything was insured. O Angels we need to keep our insurance at home on the car active for this other insurance to work.

We went on to tusan for the night less trafficfor driving in the morning. We found nice motal for 53 dollar for the night. The only bad thing was we had a late dinner that night.

Traveling

We are on our way to our misssion. We decided to call Angela on the 800 number to let her know that we wanted to stay with the Mc Candless in Los Vages, but every time I tried to call the line was busy. So I thought that I would try again at the next gas station. Anyway as we traveled people would come up to me and ask me question about were we are going. Connie started to feel left out so I told her that if they were wemen they would have talk to her. Now back to the problem of calling Angela after trying all day we was at the last stop before Los Vagus, and lo luck on the 800 number, so I got some change from Connie and Strart calling our other lines. You You know the other phone lines. The fax line no answer, calling the home line no answer, and I call Connie old cell phone then the phone started eating my money. I still didn't get any answers.

I looked back at my wife and there was a lady talking to a woman so I thought, WOW, it worked!! Now Connie will be happy then THE NEXT THING i KNOW SHE WAS IN THE SIDE DOOR MOVING ALL OUR STUFF TO THE BACK. i STARTED THINKING NO WAY ARE going give somebody a ride, but guess what yep your right, we are taking not only one but two people to the next town, about 20 miles away. I went to liik for them.

11.8.06 Wow What a dat this was. If every day is like this we are going to have alot to day. First of all we left my sister )Connie) house and went to Salt Lake to get some easy Reader book from the LDS book store. Connie felt like she needed 10 books each of old testament, new testment, and book of mormon. then we got some spriptures in spanish for me, some music to inspire us on our long trip to mexico. After we left Salt Lake City. We were on our way.

MTC

We are busy learning to peach the Gospel, with the help of the book"Peach my Gospel." Dad abd I are finding it hard to team teach. So far he does a lessen or I do a lessen. We both talk to much.
Roy was in a car wreak and was life flied up to the U of U hospital. He broke his foot and injured his back. We got to go up to see Roy in the U of U hospitial. We got back at midnight. We found most of the gates close and we had to park are car in another lot for the new missionary coming.
He will need surgury thurday morning. We will check on him this week end and let you know how he is doing.

They have church member acting like investagyor that come in and we have to teach them the lessen. First we taught the Restoration and Second we taught the Plan of Salvation. We had a girl who was menially handicap to teach today. We adapt the lessen to her and she help us with the scpriture we needed. She helping her mother go to the Doctor and shopping because the mother can not drive.

Also we had a semianar with one of the twelve his name starts with a U. We love hearing him talk about the peach my gospel. They reserve a spot in front for the senior couples, and when all the elders & sister sang it was so wonderful, that I leaned over to Connie and said, this alone is worth comming on a mission for.
