Stove

We Clean an old stove top for the welding shop. They use it for their lunchs. That abount all we did wednesday. Thur and Fri were getting buildings ready to paint. Still waiting for supplys for plumbing things. The rest of the last few day I been sick and sleep as much as I could. We went out for family home evening and family was not there and it did not work out. It Tue and I starting to feel a little better.Not everyday is a busy day. I have to stop and remember that we are down here to learn how to be together without children or somebody else around. Our lives here is suppose to be different and sometimes we forget this.I feel like we are stsnding still while the rest of the world is spining around us. And yes it sounds like the only thing we did this last couple days was clean a old stove gas stove top. But I know that it was important to the men who will us it every day to warm there lunch. End of story and of endless days

Cake Class here Los Mochis

We did a cake cooking class for Los Mochis. The sister love it and so did I. We did an upside down cake with fresh pineapple. They have it all the time down here. I show them they could use other fruit too. Sent that cake to the stove. Start a chocalte cake. and sent it to get bake. Mix up a German frosting for them sent it to the stove. and went to check on it. They had not put any of the cake in the oven. We put it in. One gal was stir the topping for me. It was done one of the time I went to the kitch. Took it out so the group could see me put in the coconut and nuts. We had to turn down the oven. the cake was cooking to fast burning outside and uncook on the inside. I made a simple butter Crean frosting. Base put in a blob of butter, some power suger with little bit of milk and stir. If it not smooth add a little more mailk. Keep doing that til it just right. We show them how to add different favors to it. Whip up a topping like dream whip.

We had a long wait for the cake. When it was done turn it out of pan and it was great. Put in the chocolate cake and waited. It was getting late when it finish. try to turn it out of the pan but it broke. Frosted it with the german frosting quick. Everyone love the cakes and they all took lots of notes. Hope they learn a lot.

Brent left me and went to pick up Otilia and L Liberato at the market place. It was late and they missed bus to Arocerro. So I hopped into the car to give them a lift. It was suppose to be a simple thing, but it turned out to be a little bit bigger adventure then I thought. I was to meet them down by the big cathalic church on independenia street. I drove by the church and did not see them,so I parked and got out of the car with the car running,now don't get ahead of me here. I did not lock the door,it wasn't my fault it was the one armed man. Any way they found me and we went to get in the car it was lock,yep. There I was locked out late at night with the car running. So I thought maybe I could get a wire and open it up. There was a shop opened so I asked them for a wire to unlock the door. But while I'm doing this I started to draw a crowd of people, and of course they all are telling how and where they put there extra keys, well that wasn't working so in the middle of all of this one guy said he knew a man that could open the car and went to get him. I thanked him and waited for the man to come. He showed up dressed very nice with a little bag ,took out two little tools put them into the lock and opened it right up.Wow this man knew what he was doing, I ask him how much the service was. He told me it would be 100.00 pecos [about ten bucks] I told him that I only had 50.00 which he accepted, I thanked him and the rest is history. LESSON LEARNED the car has a mind of it's own. No I NEED a extra key on my key ring, end of story.

Confression

Confression was this sunday part of the meeting they do and the rest of the speaker are from Salt lake City Generial Authory. Part of the speaker spoke in sust spanish. Packer did part of his talk in spanish.

Monday we set apointment with a lady starting back to church. Her first day back was conference. Another has an appointment with the bishop but for monday. Hope we can do both. Brent did not let me know there was a confect. I be glad when know few more words. We took the gal to her interview and the bishop did not know about it. We waited for him. We were an hour and half late for family home eveing. She had here whole family over and they gone home. We gave a lessen and had family pray and left. We have to set this whole thing up again.

Baptism

Will fill up the car with people to take to Los Mochis for a Baptism. Everyone excite and happy. Got some brownie make to share after the baptism. I went to get them and they lock the church. So we ate them out of the back of the car. Margo and Wanda so want to be baptized with Librio but we need paper to do civil wedding so we can. We are hoping soon it will be there turn. Even San Francisco
Rent of the day was stake conferance and tomorrow.

End of a joyous day

The Group

 
Libro is in the hat and he getting baptize Saturday at noon he so excited. He got new shoe and he got a tie for the event. The Group very happy for him.
 
This is the lady with her family we did the cake class at with the new stove. She watching the building for her brother we have church in with the group.
  We spend most of to day working in the house because it started rain at 3:00 in the morning I brought in a rug we hung out to dry. It rain most of the morning. We went out to visit the group about 3:00pm. I drove as far as I thought save and we walk to people houses. The mud stick to your shoe it really bad here. so we did not drive on the dirt road much the mud on the shoe is enough. 

Writing

We spend the day around the house. Cleaning. Made a loaf of Bread for RS. The lessen was on journal. They covered some note books. We invited them to make cake with the other ward for Tuesday. The sister want me to show them how to make bread. We plan that for next month. Enjoy the time with the sister.

Gasless day

We run out of gas on the way to the office. Where we hope to get gas money they pay part of our rent back to us. She thought she would have the money for us but it was late getting there yesterday. We waited for her in the office.
We came very close to haveing a accidient cross one of the ain road down here. The road look clear. I went with another truck but was a little slower there was just one car. It didn't slow down or move over to miss us I did some mauving to miss just be for he would hit us the car put on the brake. I as trying to speed up. It was to close. Thank the Lord for watching out for us.
We finial got gas so we could go to pick up Liberto, Magro, and Juana to meet with the mission in Los Mochis for interview. They would like to baptize them Saturday at noon the only catch is Magro and Juana were married in the church which Mexico does not accept. Juana got her birth certificate. Magro does not have his.
We took Magro to the Doctor to check his toe becauce it has a black spot on it. The Doctor said the toe was going great. The black spot is dead and will down off. We took them home, While out in the area we walk out to a lady house to invite her and family to church. Dad told her it was time to just started going back to church. She told him he said hard thing. Dad did not say more because he did not want to lecture her. The lady were talking a little and we left. We went home because it was late out there. We were invited to eat but it was late. We went home and fix something to eat. We still need to give everyone the last lesson on like the ten commondments. The other we taught them all ready.

Paying Rent

WE were telling the Landlord about reading the Book of MormonFriday when we were paying the rent. He said by the way I want to read the Book of Mormon. I went and got a Book of Mormon for him. He got a wonderful family. He said you know I like my glass of wine and enjoying my family. We did not say any thing. The Book of Mormon it own testomy of the true within it pages with the help of the holy Ghost.

We took the bus to the maket on Tuesday to get better knowledge of were store are around the market. We enjoy the day not worrying about getting something and just seeing were store are at. It alway busy down here except christmas Day it was tiny busy but every quite. We trying to remeber store. They have a store for cleaning thing, another for shoe, another for clothes, and thing for pinata. We got some of our rent back at the office so we went to get hamburger tonight because it buy two and get three. We brought the third one home. The burger are so big and with fries. We mean with the bishop. Talk to the lady in the kithen asking if they would like to learn to make cake. They got excited. They normal meet at 5 but want to come at 4. It should be a lot of fun. Our bishop said that the other ward what about our lady. They meet on Thurday. I told him we love to do it for them. We end up just inviteing them to the other wards meeting to learn to make cake.

Hard Time

We are saving our gas in the car to go out to the fire family tonight for family home evening. We clean our apartment. Dad play solution game with me. The one to ask question about what happen. We did a couple of thought. Fix lunch of potatoes. We went on the bus to see the store in the market. We look at different store. Got some cookie at the store like of like a gram cracker only not as much sugar. I got left over frosting from teaching sister to make cake so I used it to frosted the cookie. I like it better not as sweet as at home. We went out about 4:30 hoping they had eaten. They invited us to eat. We ate a small part of their soup.
We left so they could eat and his brother invited us to eat. They have a sick child. The Dad told about trying to have family prayer with his family and the little two year old in his own way told them it was wrong . He went and got his grandparent and other ex ten family to stand in a circle. They prayed and then he move frontward and try to say te amo. It amazing what children learn from watching the adults. We had some vapor rub in the car which dad gave them it seem to help. His father and Dad gave the boy a blessing. It has turn cold the last few days and there is more moister in the air. It is just cold. They live in a tin home. It remind me of camping then to have a sick kid. The father ask how we prayed if we kneeel and why? We knelt with them to pray around the bed with the little boy. Dad told them God love them and this was just a test. We felt better about leaving after the prayer. They are still going to have a long night.
Back to Greg Gegoreo home to do family home Evening. His sister is there with them. Dad gave the lessen on Daniel and the lion den. We play the new paper game with them so we did the rhythm game. Dad was peter for a long time. We finial got him out. Greg was next and he stayed for along time.

Thurday my Birthday

We paint a little and I went out to the field to get some picture of the people working harvesting the potato. We gave a lessen to Librio and the other. Went to give the fire lady a ride. Some had gone to town. One could not come her husband could not fix his supper with out her and she did not have bean cook yet. We went to teach some how to cook cake. The cake baking went fine. My frosting were any other story. One whipped frosting Dad burn. German frosting turn out fine. The pudding frosting did not cook long enough. They do not have pudding package down here. I used a flun box and mix it with the whip topping. it turn out just took to long. We started at 4:00 finish at 8:00 to long. I do better next time. They don't know how to make cake and they want it. I think I get another changes. The basic butter cream frosting is to sweet for them.

End the day learning how to do a better lessen and birthday cake to eat my favorite german cake.

Painting at the complex 3

 

We been painting Door this week at the complex 3. We miss working because one day they did not have paint for us. WE finish early the next day because of lessen appointment. We been hauling some old tin to one of the member who using it for building his house. The tin is rusty and has big nail hole in it. They put new roof on here at the farm these pieces are the worst. We hauled they to the member home. Libeato, Magro, and juana have been getting the missionary lessons. Libeato is the one we gave a blessing to him. His brother has the black toe. They got a grandson living with them. None of them can read so we been using the easy reader. O there grandson can read he 11. We gave them the three discussion. They want to be baptize. The boy been reading from the ez reader to his grandparents. Libeato has been working at night when they read so we been trying to read to him. The picture help them remember the story. We are only a group so we have to take them to church in Los Mochis to meet the bishop. We seen the Mission President this Sunday so will find how were and who will inter view them. They have a special spirit in there home.
The two book of Mormon family call this week. We had not been over they lost interest so we were right over they had two Jehovah Witness were there. We talk with them. They were trying to change our minds. Finial I said you not going to change our minds and we not going to change yours. He needs to pray about what he reading. They left at about that moment. We do not know what up with them. They invite to meet with them tomorrow for tamales. We went after we meet with libeato. They show us how to make tamales. I find them the meat hot. Thankful I did not get any with hot pepper in them. Brent just love them. We talk with the family I do not think we will be going back. They just stop making progress maybe another time with somebody else.
We trying to get a meeting with the dreamer. She had the missionary before. I don't know how far in the lessen she been. Will start at the beginning, But we still trying for a date for a lessen. We done a lot of teaching this week but not must work. Brent did get the plumbing layed out. 

Harvesting Potato

 

Down here in Mexico they harvest potato by hand still. The worker on the farm are I think Indians. The lady wear very colorful dress as you can see in the picture. Some of the worker in the complex are from the village just across the canal. They sort out the green potato and the real small potato. One of the building on complex three does potato chip fresh. They quality control what the potato chip will look like for the chip company. Brent got fresh potato chip a couple time. It been fun eating fresh chips. 

Ice Show

We got two door paint black with oil paint at complex three. We had some of the lady not wanting to use the guy bathroom and it was clean. One lady insisted on using it with the wet paint people don't like doing thing different.
We went to a new store for food. They have big bags of like toilet paper and soap. It help make money go farther. We found a big rotten melon in the middle of all there melon. We look for our melon very carefully. We happen to find someone to tell. The stores all have this big round bread wreath We found out rosce is for the day of the kings. One of the place we went to eat gave us rosce to eat. I found a little baby in my piece which means you are to bring tamale to another party on February the 2. This is the last day of king and they eat tamale. I guess the king made it home about that time from visiting the new born king. I did not see any one looking for the king before Christmas which it is said they do. Finding him on Christmas. School start here Monday. The road between town was fill with car trying to get home for the day of Kings and to be ready for school. At the restronution I had sing for them. The Lady ask why and then ask if he could sing. We went by a big tent and thought it was a circus but I saw a sign that said ice show. We happen to be there just before the show people were lineing up. It was 200,150, and 100 paso sits. We pick the middle and went home to get money. We hurry back for the show. They had the show on ice. It was a fun little show. People were so inpatience for it to start before it was even time. They started making noises. I don't think they get much arty show. We had fun. Brent said they had there own meter and wire they put into the lines for power. Alot of seat were empy at the show.

End of the day with some ice and it was windy and cold.

Black Toe

Hitch took us to the beach for the new year. This beach is an hour and half away. It is loaded with sea shell. Many are whole and many are broke. They have small wave there. The water is not very deep there but it not at topolobombo. Sometime will have to go back.
We spend most of this week taking Magro to the hospital with his toe. Tuesday morning early in hospital at 7:30. Saw the Doctor at 11::00. Doctor look at it and had it re bandaged. We went out to the farm for half a day. They sent us over to complex three. They decided to do a watering system over there. Brent did some measuring. They hand pick up the potato. They sort out the small potato. They give them too the people working there. They take them home. They pick out few from all over the field. Those they make into potato chips checking quality for the chip company. Two women clean and cut the potato. The women bend over to clean them. We went looking for something to put the cleaning bucket on so they would not have to bend over so far. We found something that would work for them. They do potato till the end of May. They just start doing potato they planted in Late Aug and September. The women making the chip to thank us ask if we want chips or french fries. Brent of course said potato chips. We got a bag. Brent says Mmmm tasted good. Write this date down my first taste of fresh potato chips. I'm in love again.
Wednesday we went back to the hospital at noon. Waiting till 3:30 to be seen by the another Doctor. This Doctor look at the toe. It is Good new the toe can be saved so the blessing work. Just need some expensive cream put on toe for six weeks. Expensive cream down here is 400 Pecos. If you got a good paying job down here you make 120 Paco a day. House not problem you pick a bit of land and the government give it to you. You only have the experience of building it with no inspector.

End many days with happy toe and teaching abc in spainish and I still trying to talk it. Lord will it can be done.
